Job summary

SCMCAA is seeking a Class Aide / Bus Aide to work with the Head Start Bus Driver in providing safe transportation for children while assisting in the classroom. Responsibilities include maintaining safe driving habits, documentation for special needs children, and facilitating communication between staff and parents.

The ideal candidate should hold a high school diploma, obtain a Child Development Associate credential, and have a positive attitude towards children and parents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Possess or obtain a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
• Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and bus safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily activities in the Head Start center.
• Responsible for special needs children and maintain safety on the bus.
• Provide communication between staff and parents concerning children.

Skills

Child Development Associate (CDA) credential

Knowledge of bus safety regulations

Ability to relate to children and parents

Good verbal communication skills

Education
