Job summary

KinderCare Learning Companies is hiring a cook! As a cook, you will prepare healthy and tasty meals and snacks for the children in our centers, following a menu and recipes developed by our in-house nutritionist, ensuring our children have the fuel they need to learn and grow.

The role emphasizes maintaining kitchen safety, ordering food, dispensing and storing medication per regulations, and supporting center goals around enrollment and engagement.

Qualifications

• Love for children and a desire to contribute daily.
• Knowledge of proper food storage and allergy considerations.
• Ability to follow nutritious menus and prepare meals for center size.
• Basic math for measuring servings.
• Food Handler’s License or willingness to obtain one.
• Experience in institutional cooking and food ordering is desirable.
• Two+ years working with children is desirable.
• Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds and use a computer.
• English literacy to communicate with children and parents.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and equipment safely and hygienically.
• Order food and supplies.
• Dispense and store medication as requested.
• Complete documentation according to KinderCare and licensing requirements.
• Support center goals around enrollment and engagement.
• Assist with other daily center duties as needed.
