Job summary

Somerville Public Schools seeks an Early College and First Generation Success Coordinator to lead a new early college program at Somerville High School. This role will partner with the College & Career Readiness team to design programming for first-generation students and their families, aligning coursework with partner college expectations.

The coordinator will coordinate with district leadership, educate students and families, and provide advising and guidance throughout the postsecondary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant field is required.
• Experience with early college design and programming is required.
• Spanish, Portuguese, and/or Haitian Creole speaking ability is strongly preferred.
• Experience in postsecondary advising, particularly with low-income and/or first generation students.
• Education and credentials/licensure as applicable to district requirements.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with SHS leadership to design and implement an early college partnership.
• Educate students, families, and staff about the early college program.
• Advise students and families through the college and career process, including admissions and financial aid.
