Summary

The Teacher Associate is responsible for maintaining a cohesive teaching team, coordinating the curriculum, and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. Teachers must understand children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development to ensure a safe and stimulating environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. The Teacher must be skilled in communicating with children and adults to meet children's needs, guide teacher assistants, and resolve parental concerns.

Duties
  • Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
  • Lead by example; encourage team success through modeling and coaching.
  • Plan age-appropriate activities to promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth.
  • Maintain communication with parents through discussions, reports, and conferences.
  • Ensure compliance with center policies and state regulations.
  • Maintain a healthy classroom environment, including hygiene, safety, and security standards.
  • Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers to follow planned activities and standards.
  • Keep accurate records, forms, and files.
  • Engage in personal professional development for continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • At least 1 year of professional child care experience.
  • Strong communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • High energy and ability to work well with staff, children, and parents.
  • Understanding of child development.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Successful background check and health screening.
  • Associate's Degree in early childhood education or related field with 21 credits in ECE.
  • Physical ability to perform duties, including walking, handling objects, and visual requirements.
  • Minimum age of 20 years, high school diploma or GED, and relevant qualifications as listed.
