Job summary

Chicanos Por La Causa, Inc. (CPLC) is seeking a Teacher Assistant to support the classroom learning environment for children ages 3-5 in our Early Childhood Development program.

You will work with the Lead Teacher to promote school readiness and family engagement while adhering to Head Start standards and state regulations. The role requires basic computer skills and bilingual communication in Spanish and English where possible.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a CDA or state credential meeting CDA requirements.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 6 months experience in early childhood development.
• 12 college credits including 6 in ECD or related field; enrollment in CDA program within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Assist and partner with the Teacher to implement the classroom environment for school readiness.
• Support children ages 3-5 in a center-based classroom following Head Start standards.
• Maintain health and safety regulations and supervise children by sight and sound.
• Assist families with education, health and social service support as part of a team.
