Summary

The Teacher Assistant supports the Teachers and the Director by helping to create a caring and safe environment for children and assisting in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. They must communicate effectively, listen, and work well with others in a team environment. The role involves implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on children's interests and needs under the guidance of the Teacher and the Director. Responsibilities include observing and documenting children's interests and progress, relaying information to parents and staff, and fostering positive relationships with children and their families.

Duties

• Assist in implementing curricula and encourage children's participation.
• Engage actively in activities; manage classroom materials and cleanliness.
• Communicate regularly with parents through informal discussions and progress reports.
• Promote self-help skills and good hygiene through modeling.
• Support smooth daily transitions from home to child care center.
• Follow all center policies and state regulations.
• Maintain a personal professional development plan for continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of professional child care experience.
• High energy and ability to work well with others.
• Strong communication skills and basic computer skills.
• Understanding of child development.
