The role includes staffing, collaboration with the Development Manager, budget stewardship, and program policy development.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Development (or related), an associated degree with a related field, or a CDA certificate, and must meet Michigan licensing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Development or equivalent
• Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Development with related Bachelor's degree
• Current CDA Certificate with 12 hours of Child Development classes
• Must meet Michigan licensing requirements for a Program Director
• Demonstrated knowledge of Early Childhood development and ability to manage a child care facility
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day responsibilities of the site including staffing, parent communication, scheduling, and compliance with state requirements and MHC policies.
• Manage Children’s Educational Services for the children, parents, and staff to promote quality development.
• Maintain confidentiality of information and records and respond to questions from parents and children.
• Develop goals and objectives for the Child Development Department with the department manager.
• Operate Child Development programs within budget and ensure licensing standards are met.
• Oversee compliance with Head Start, Early Head Start, and Great Start Readiness Program and collaborate with community partners.
