Job summary

Para Los Niños is seeking a Mentor Coach to support the growth and instructional practice of Early Childhood teaching staff. You will coach, model, observe, and provide feedback to strengthen classroom strategies and promote professional development.

Working with Site Leaders and the Area Education Coordinator, you will tailor coaching to individual teachers and teams, driving high-quality Head Start/ Early Head Start outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field; Master Teacher Permit or higher within 12 months of hire; Preschool Infant/Toddler Certification within 12 months; CLASS Reliability Certification within 12 months and annual recertification thereafter.
• Five years of experience in a public, charter, and/or private school setting.
• Knowledge of Practice-Based Coaching models and principles preferred.
• Strong ability to analyze and apply assessment data to coaching strategies and align support with performance goals.
• Experience with young children in classroom/group settings; four years preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% within Los Angeles County.

Responsibilities

• Conducts observations and reviews information to identify instructional strengths and growth areas and informs coaching priorities.
• Develops and facilitates coaching and professional learning activities aligned with identified needs.
• Partners with Area Education Coordinator and Site Leaders to coordinate support for teachers and sites.
• Provides Tier II and III coaching by modeling practices, facilitating reflection, and supporting classroom application.
• Monitors coaching effectiveness by tracking staff progress and adjusting support as needed.
• Keeps current knowledge of early childhood practices and program requirements; participates in trainings and meetings.
