Job summary

Chicanos Por La Causa, Inc. is seeking a classroom teacher for HELP NM ECD program in Deming, NM.

You will provide developmentally appropriate care for 3–5 year olds in a center-based setting and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support children’s learning and families’ health and social needs. The role requires a high school diploma or GED with CDA (or willingness to obtain CDA within 6 months); bilingual English/Spanish is preferred; 6 months preschool teaching experience; and

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with CDA (or willingness to obtain within 6 months).
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Teaching Strategies GOLD inter-rater reliability certification within 6 months of hire.
• Minimum 6 months preschool teaching experience.
• TB test or Chest X-ray; background clearance; First Aid/CPR certification within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Promote school readiness by preparing children and families for school and life success.
• Provide developmentally appropriate care and education for 3–5 year olds in a center-based classroom.
• Work with an inter-disciplinary team to support development and family health and education needs.
• Maintain health and safety practices and supervise children by sight and sound in all environments.
• Ensure compliance with Head Start standards, NM Child Care Licensing, and HELP NM ECD policies.
