Job summary

Dickinson-Iron Intermediate School District in Kingsford, Michigan, seeks an Education and Early Childhood Development Coordinator to lead programs for children, including those with special needs. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related degree.
• Elementary degree with a ZA or ZS Endorsement.
• Experience with families and children with Special Needs or related certification preferred.
• At least two years' experience in Early Childhood or Special Education with knowledge of young children.
• Understanding of disabilities and supportive services for children and families.
• Ability to work with staff, parents and the community.
• Knowledge of child development and program coordination within the department.
• Driving may be necessary with a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Research, develop, maintain and coordinate education programs for children, including those with special needs.
• Provide guidance and evaluation to classroom and home-based coordinators on planning and assessment.
• Coordinate the Education and Early Childhood Development Services Area with other coordinators and administration.
• Coordinate the Disabilities Service Component with other coordinators and administration.
• Maintain confidentiality and accurate records for children and families and facilitate transitions into programs.
