About the Role

Our client, a nurturing and innovative ECD center in Welkom , is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Early Childhood Development Practitioner . You will be responsible for creating a stimulating and safe learning environment for young children, fostering their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through play-based learning. This role requires a warm, patient, and creative individual dedicated to providing high-quality early education and care, making a significant positive impact on the formative years of children in the Free State .

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and implement age-appropriate, play-based learning activities that support children's holistic development.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and stimulating environment that meets the developmental needs of each child.
• Observe and record children's progress, maintaining individual learning portfolios and developmental assessments.
• Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and guardians, communicating regularly about children's progress and well-being.
• Promote social skills, emotional development, and positive behavior management strategies.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and improve the center's educational programs and practices.

Requirements

• Accredited qualification in Early Childhood Development (e.g., NQF Level 4 or equivalent).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with young children in an ECD setting.
• A deep understanding of child development principles and age-appropriate curriculum frameworks.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and observation skills.
• Ability to create engaging and creative learning experiences.
• Current First Aid certification is essential.
