Job summary

Placements24 seeks a nurturing Foundation Phase Teacher to join a vibrant school in Welkom. You will foster early literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional development for learners aged approximately 5 to 8 (Grades R-3). Qualifications

About the Role

This role is fundamental in establishing a strong educational foundation for young learners aged approximately 5 to 8 years old (Grades R-3). You will create a stimulating and safe learning environment that promotes early literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional development. Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons across all learning areas for Grades R-3, using play-based and interactive methods.
• Create a secure, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and exploration.
• Monitor and assess children's development and progress, maintaining detailed records and communicating with parents regularly.
• Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure a positive and orderly learning space.
• Collaborate with other Foundation Phase teachers and the wider school staff to support the school's educational goals.

Requirements

• A relevant qualification in Early Childhood Development or Foundation Phase Teaching.
• A valid teaching qualification and registration with the relevant South African professional body.
• Demonstrated experience working with young children in the Foundation Phase.
• Strong understanding of child development principles and age-appropriate pedagogy.
• Patience, creativity, and excellent interpersonal skills for engaging with young learners and their families in Free State.
