Job summary

KIPP DC is seeking a dedicated Early Childhood Aide to support students with special needs throughout the school day. The role involves implementing IEP-based strategies, assisting with daily activities, and reporting to the school leader. The position is full-time and on-site at a DC campus.

Duties include creating a safe classroom environment, de-escalating behaviors, and collaborating with teachers and families to support equitable learning opportunities for all students.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to collaborate with families and caregivers.
• Ability to adapt to changing student needs within IEPs.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers to create safe learning environments and implement IEP-based strategies.
• Collect data and monitor student progress to inform grouping and planning.
• Assist with hygiene, meals, and daily activities as needed.
• Attend MDT meetings and collaborate with the school team.
• Foster positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
