Job summary

The Mandel JCC of the Palm Beaches is hiring support staff for the Early Childhood Learning Center in Palm Beach Gardens. You will substitute in classrooms, assist teachers, and help plan and implement curriculum while communicating with parents and tracking each child’s development.

Ideal candidates have childcare experience, Florida licensing readiness, and a willingness to learn Judaic content, with CPR/First Aid or a plan to obtain it.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience working with children ages 3 months to 5 years.
• Associate degree and 45-hour DCF training in childcare or qualified exemption.
• Commitment to 10 hours (1 CEU) in-service training per year (July 1–June 30).
• Meet Florida DOH requirements for teaching in an Early Childhood Learning Center.
• CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to relate to young children and adults in an emotionally responsive manner.
• Willingness to acquire Judaic knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide and supervise activities promoting emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development.
• Maintain a neat, organized classroom and ensure setup prior to arrival and cleanup after dismissal.
• Attend to children’s play, reflect on growth, and document learning.
• Read each child’s files and know medical and developmental histories.
• Nurture growth across physical, spiritual, emotional, social, cognitive and literary domains.
• Perform additional program duties as assigned by Lead Teacher and Director.
