Job summary

Waverly Family Center in Baltimore, MD is seeking an EHS Assistant to support teachers in an Early Head Start classroom serving 6-week to 3-year-olds. You will help with activities, safety, and daily routines to create a healthy learning environment.

The role requires a high school diploma plus experience with young children and the ability to assist with meals, hygiene, and classroom management. This is a full-time on-site position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• Experience with infants/t toddlers in child development preferred.
• Ability to work with young children and families in Early Head Start.

Responsibilities

• Track classroom attendance using sign-in/out forms.
• Assist with setup and rearrangements of the classroom.
• Support teacher in monitoring activities and maintaining order.
• Perform general housekeeping and sanitization of space and toys.
• Assist with diapering, feeding, tooth brushing, toileting, and hand washing.
• Prepare meals and serve food selections.
• Adhere to safety procedures and participate in trainings.
• Attend staff meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
