Qualifications

• Minimum age of 16.
• Must be willing to acquire required trainings within 60 days of hire date (trainings online only).

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher in directing daily learning and activities according to MSDE requirements and Bright Eyes theme planning.
• Assist in greeting children daily; ensure parents are greeted.
• Assist in daily planning and execution of classroom and outside activities (cutting, drawing, tracing, music, finger plays, games).
• Protect health, welfare, and safety; apply first aid to minor injuries and write accident reports.
• Supervise bathroom activities and assist children as needed; clean up accidents.
• Assist in snack and meal preparation and serving; keep tables clean and disinfected.
• Ensure end-of-day cleanup and attendance check-out.
• Help with cleaning floors, spills, and tidying shelves and toys.
• Play with children, have conversations, and read to them; stay engaged rather than idle.
• Return supplies to storage and organize; manage snack/food storage properly.
• Move dishes and clean kitchen areas after meals; disinfect surfaces.
• Keep classrooms tidy and shelves labeled; store outside toys properly.
• Close and secure doors/windows in the evening.
• Support discipline in the classroom and participate in staff meetings and required trainings.
