Job summary

Priority Dispatch Corp. in McComb, MS, is seeking an early childhood assistant to help design and implement developmentally appropriate activities, supervise children, and support teachers.

The role requires knowledge of Head Start practices, and a CDA or an associate degree with demonstrated childcare experience. You will assist with child screenings, attendance tracking, lesson planning, and referrals while working closely with the classroom team to foster a safe and engaging learning

Qualifications

• Experience in childcare and early childhood development environments.
• Strong knowledge of theories and practices of Early Childhood Development (Head Start).
• Working knowledge of Head Start and State Child Care regulatory environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and setup of classroom and learning centers based on curriculum and children interest.
• Provide constant active supervision of children during all activities, indoors and outdoors.
• Conduct classroom activities in the absence of an assigned teacher.
• Assist with developmentally appropriate activities for each child in learning domains.
• Screen each child using Brigance Early Childhood Screen III (3-5 years) to meet 45‑Day compliance.
• Develop Group Weekly Lesson plans based on curriculum and children interests.
• Assist with implementing individual lesson plans (IEP/ISFP) based on screening results within two weeks.
• Record anecdotal observations weekly during daily activities for each child.
• Administer the CPI assessment three times per school year for each child.
• Initiate referrals to teachers for behavioral concerns and follow up bi-weekly until addressed.
• Record attendance daily in the absence of the teacher and report absences.

Education

Associate Degree in Child Development or related field

Child Development Associate (CDA) Certification
