Behavior Assistant – Junior Explorers Preschool Team

We’re looking for a caring and enthusiastic behavior assistant to join our Junior Explorers preschool team, working with 3-5 year olds. In this role, you’ll work one‑on‑one with a child who needs extra support to engage in daily routines and activities. You’ll help create a positive, inclusive classroom experience that allows every child to thrive.

Responsibilities

• Support one preschool‑aged child in daily classroom activities and transitions.
• Provide gentle guidance and supervision during structured and unstructured play.
• Model and reinforce positive behavior and social skills.
• Collaborate with the lead teacher and classroom team to promote a nurturing, safe environment.
• Assist with creating an engaging and inclusive learning experience for all children.

Qualifications

• Background in early childhood or classroom support. (Preferred)
• Experience working with young children, especially those with special needs or behavioral challenges.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
• A friendly, patient, and compassionate personality.
• Reliability, professionalism, and confidentiality.
• Physical requirements: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

Salary and Benefits

• Starting at $21.94/hour.

Location & Shift Times

• Minnetonka Community Education Center (MCEC).
• Full‑time; Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM–5:30 PM.
