Job summary

Community-Action-of-South-Mississippi is seeking a caring assistant to support Head Start programs in Pascagoula, MS. You will help the teacher deliver quality activities and monitor children’s safety in a fast-paced classroom environment.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED and a CDA within 18 months. Prior experience with toddlers/preschoolers is preferred, and strong customer service and computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must obtain Child Development Associate (CDA) within 18 months of start date.
• Minimum of 6 months experience with toddlers and/or preschool children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom Teacher in providing quality activities that meet Head Start standards.
• Support development across social, emotional, physical, and cognitive areas.
• Promote family engagement in all aspects of the program.
• Ensure safety and welfare of children during activities and field trips.
