Job summary

St. Anne’s Early Learning, a program of Catholic Charities Eastern Washington, seeks an Assistant Teacher to support daily activities, learning experiences, and child well-being.

You will work closely with the Lead Teacher to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young learners. Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, and an ECE certificate or MERIT equivalent; prior child care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; ECE initial certificate or MERIT equivalent preferred.
• Experience in child development centers is preferred.
• Applied AA in early childhood education or related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate activities and curriculum.
• Lead small group activities or one-on-one sessions to support learning.
• Set up and cleanup activities to keep the classroom organized.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and structured classroom environment.
• Support behavior guidance and conflict resolution for children.
• Supervise children at all times and ensure safety.
• Document observations and progress with the Lead Teacher.
