Job summary

St. Anne’s Early Learning, a program of Catholic Charities Eastern Washington, seeks an Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in daily activities, learning experiences, and child well‑being in a safe, nurturing environment.

Applicants should be 18+, with knowledge of child development, a HS diploma or GED, and early childhood education credentials; DCYF background check and basic trainings required.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; knowledge of child development preferred.
• ECE initial certificate or equivalent approved in MERIT system required or preferred.
• Background check and basic trainings (STARS, Food Handler’s, First Aid/CPR) required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teacher with age-appropriate activities and curriculum.
• Lead small group or 1:1 sessions to support children's learning.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe classroom environment.
• Support behavior guidance and conflict resolution.
• Communicate with parents about child progress and concerns.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
