Job summary

Wearedream in New York, NY is seeking a Teacher’s Aide to support the Lead and Assistant Teachers, helping create a safe, inclusive classroom and improving student outcomes.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent, at least one year of experience with young children, CDA or college enrollment, CPR/first aid certification, on-site five days a week from 7:45am to 4:15pm. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year experience working with young children in school or daycare setting.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One of the following: CDA credential; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree; currently enrolled in a program leading to an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree; will enroll and complete a CDA credential within 12 months of hire.
• CPR and first aid certification required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher and Assistant Teacher in planning and implementing classroom activities and lessons.
• Foster a safe, sanitary, warm, and inclusive environment.
• Work one-on-one with students who may require extra assistance, ensuring they receive personalized attention.
• Communicate observations to teachers to support family engagement and student learning.
• Supervise and aid students during transitions, meals, and naptime, following classroom policies and health and safety protocols.
• Help maintain accurate records.
• Assist with family conferences, school events, and provide staff coverage as needed.
• Assist with small group activities to reinforce lesson concepts and provide additional support to students as needed.
• Participate in professional development and coaching sessions.
• Obtain and maintain certification in CPR and first aid certifications.
• Additional duties related to the running of the school as assigned.
