Job summary

Scott Carver Dakota CAP Agency in Apple Valley, MN invites applications for a Teacher Assistant role supporting Head Start classrooms. You will assist the lead teacher with daily activities, meal service, and family engagement while ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for children and families.

The position emphasizes teamwork, data entry, and adherence to local, state, and Head Start guidelines. A CDA or higher degree (or equivalent) and proficiency in Microsoft Office are preferred;

Qualifications

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have data entry experience.
• CDA credential or state certificate meeting/exceeding CDA, or an associates or higher degree.
• Current Infant/Child First Aid and CPR Certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans with the Teacher and implements daily activities, assisting with completing child assessments using Creative Curriculum.
• Data entry on teaching strategies GOLD software.
• Works with the children individually and in groups in the center; accompanies the class on field trips.
• Comply and implement local, state and Head Start federal guidelines.
• Works with teacher and paraprofessional to serve and clean up meals and purchase groceries.
• Participates in family-style meals.
• Actively participates in cleaning and maintenance of the center.
• Attends team meetings, CAP Agency and Head Start trainings/meetings and other training as assigned.
• Communicates with parents and staff to ensure complete services for each child.
