The Goddard School of Laurel, MD is seeking a motivated and caring Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans, help manage the classroom, and ensure a safe, stimulating environment for children.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Association or bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Experience in licensed childcare/preschool setting desired.
• Empathy and compassion for young children is essential.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs is required.
• Must pass state background checks and meet licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans.
• Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development.
• Prepare classroom materials and maintain a safe, clean learning environment.
• Supervise children and provide individualized support to foster belonging.
• Communicate with families about child progress and daily activities.
• Follow health, safety guidelines and licensing regulations.
