The Goddard School located at 7760 Montpelier Road Laurel, MD 20723 is seeking a passionate Lead Teacher. Lead daily activities, inspire young minds, and implement our Wonder of Learning curriculum in a nurturing classroom.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; ECE degree preferred.
• CDA credential preferred.
• 45-hour Infant and Toddler or Preschool Certification required.
• 1–2 years of licensed childcare or preschool experience preferred.
• Must complete state-required pre-service training.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Curriculum and Instruction: Implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities using our Wonder of Learning curriculum to engage each child.
• Classroom Management: Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Family Communication: Maintain open, effective communication with families about child progress.
• Health and Safety: Supervise children to uphold health and safety standards and licensing.
• Professional Development: Participate in ongoing development and training.
• Assessment and Documentation: Observe and document children’s learning to inform activities.
• Team Collaboration: Support Assistant and Resource Teachers.
• Behavior Guidance: Model positive guidance strategies for social-emotional growth.
