Job summary

The Goddard School located in Baltimore, MD is seeking a motivated Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher with engaging, age-appropriate lessons.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting required.
• Must pass state background checks and meet state education, experience and credential requirements.
• Shows empathy and compassion for young children.
• Works productively without supervision.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans
• Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through active engagement and positive interactions
• Prepare classroom materials and ensure a safe, clean and inviting learning environment
• Supervise and provide individualized support to children and foster a sense of belonging
• Assist in communicating with families about their child’s progress and daily activities
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations to ensure a secure environment
• Support daily care routines and tasks to promote a nurturing learning environment
