The Goddard School of Baltimore is seeking a motivated and caring Assistant Teacher to join our team in Baltimore, MD. You will support the Lead Teacher in creating engaging programs, managing the classroom, and ensuring a safe, stimulating environment for children.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting required.
• Shows empathy and compassion for young children.
• Works productively without supervision.
• Basic understanding of child development.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans.
• Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through active engagement and positive interactions.
• Prepare classroom materials and ensure a safe, clean and inviting learning environment.
• Supervise and provide individualized support to children and foster a sense of belonging.
• Assist in communicating with families about their child’s progress and daily activities.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations to ensure a secure environment.
• Support daily care routines and tasks to promote a nurturing learning environment.
