Job summary

BronxWorks is hiring for a Full Time position in Bronx, NY, assisting the Lead Teacher in an early childhood learning center. You will help implement Head Start standards, track progress, and support daily activities for children aged 3–5.

The role emphasizes inclusive education, parent engagement, and teamwork across the program. Must have a HS diploma, with relevant coursework or credentials preferred and bilingual English/Spanish encouraged.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Some college credits in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• CDA or 15 credits in Early Childhood Education required/preferred.
• Teacher Assistant Certification preferred.
• One year of Head Start or UPK teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teacher in maintaining records of each child’s progress for Head Start standards.
• Assist Lead Teacher with implementation of program policies and day-to-day operations.
• Help plan and implement daily activities aligned with the curriculum.
• Assist in developing written plans to promote each child’s growth.
• Maintain a safe, organized classroom environment supportive of development.
• Foster positive relationships and promote self-esteem and self-discipline.
• Assist with IEP implementation and inclusion of children with disabilities.
• Plan and conduct education field trips with guidance from the Lead Teacher.
• Assist with home visits and parent conferences.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in staff development.
• Support Education Director and teacher with parent involvement activities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
