Job summary

BronxWorks is seeking a Lead Teacher for a full-time position in Bronx, NY. You will plan and implement age-appropriate curricula, supervise the classroom, and ensure the health, safety, and development of children.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree (or Master’s), NYS teaching certificate or eligibility, and one year of Head Start/UPK experience. Proficiency with basic computer and communication tools is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree required or masters preferred.
• One year of prior teaching experience in Headstart and/or UPK program.
• Proficiency in modern business communications including email, voicemail and copier equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality programming and implement curriculum for young learners.
• Maintain supervision of classroom and ensure health, welfare, and safety of children.
• Communicate effectively with parents through orientations and conferences.
• Plan weekly classroom activities and field trips as appropriate.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure supplies and equipment are available.
