Job summary

Fairwinds Technologies seeks an entry-level Systems Engineer to help turn RF and communications concepts into verifiable, testable systems. You will work with experienced engineers across RF, networking, DSP, FPGA, embedded software, and mechanical disciplines.

The role covers requirements, architecture, interfaces, and field support. The position provides exposure to the full engineering lifecycle, including documentation, demonstrations, and lab integration.

Qualifications

• Experience in systems engineering processes and requirements management.
• Familiarity with architectures, interfaces, and verification methods.

Responsibilities

• Capture, clarify, and decompose system and interface requirements.
• Develop system concepts, architectures, and interface definitions.
• Maintain traceability among needs, design decisions, and verification results.
• Create system diagrams, use cases, and verification plans.
• Coordinate information across RF, networking, DSP, FPGA, embedded software, electrical, mechanical, and test disciplines.
• Support integration of radios, modems, processors, networks, RF subsystems, antennas, and test equipment.
• Assist with verification planning, testing, and evidence collection.
• Participate in lab and field integration, customer demonstrations, and design reviews.
• Manage risks, dependencies, and engineering changes.
• Prepare clear engineering documents and brief technical meetings.
