Job summary

Olsson is seeking an Assistant Engineer for the Rail Water Resources team. You will support hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for Class I Railroad projects, assist with plan production, documentation, permitting, and design tasks while growing technical skills for project delivery.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering and EI certification or the ability to obtain it. Internship or related engineering experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering is required.
  • EI certification or ability to obtain certification within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Internship, co-op, or related engineering experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for railroad projects.
  • Support plan production and technical documentation.
  • Help with permitting efforts and design tasks.
  • Develop skills in design software used by the team.
  • Contribute to field investigations and data collection.
  • Prepare technical reports and project documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to meet deliverables.
  • Support project management processes and information maintenance.
