Job summary

HV Talent Group is seeking a Preconstruction Design Engineer for the Milwaukee-area team. This on-site role partners with architects to translate architectural concepts into viable structural designs, enabling estimation and proposals.

The ideal candidate has 0–3 years in engineering, a Civil/Structural background, and strong communication skills. The position offers a base salary range and a project/sales bonus pool, with limited relocation assistance possible.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years in an entry-level or early-career engineering role.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Civil or Structural.
• Understanding of fundamental structural engineering principles.
• Ability to perform or understand structural calculations.
• Ability to review architectural concepts and develop engineering solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Review architectural concepts, sketches, and early-stage models.
• Develop preliminary structural design solutions and alternatives.
• Work with structural glass and steel systems during conceptual design.
• Perform preliminary structural calculations and evaluate loads.
• Coordinate load requirements with architects, contractors, and other engineers.
• Collaborate with architects throughout design development and revise concepts.
