Job summary

WSP is seeking an Early Career Electrical Engineer (ESSP) for our Hailey, ID office to contribute to the Power and Energy Team and growing client projects.

You will assist with design, calculations, and documentation for electrical systems in utility, industrial, and commercial contexts, under close supervision. This role emphasizes safety, learning, and hands-on project support in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 0–1 year of relevant post-education experience.
• Familiarity with electrical design principles for large capital projects.
• Knowledge of electrical codes, regulations and documentation practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a professional audience.
• Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Familiarity with discipline-specific design software (AutoCAD Electrical, Aspen, CAPE).
• Proven safety mindset and ability to follow policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with data collection and analysis for substation components and design packages.
• Prepare single-line, three-line diagrams and substation layouts under supervision.
• Develop electrical calculations for loads, sizing, and grounding.
• Create documentation using electronic systems and field logs.
• Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and regulations on site.
• Support project tasks and complete training on assigned duties.
