Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories is seeking an Early Career Contracting Specialist for onsite work in New Mexico. The role focuses on planning, negotiating, and closing subcontracts, while ensuring compliance with federal regulations and prime contracts.

You will collaborate with leadership and external stakeholders to deliver timely, compliant agreements. Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and be able to obtain a DOE L-level security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Accounting, Finance or relevant discipline.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE L-level security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leadership to ensure efficient planning, negotiation, and closure of critical path contracts/subcontracts for Sandia.
• Represent Sandia positively with external stakeholders at local and national levels.
• Commit Sandia to legally binding subcontracts and agreements, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and prime contract requirements.
• Develop strategies with leadership to identify and mitigate risks and disruptions while balancing efficiency and compliance.
• Participate in self‑assessment and review activities to assure compliance for stakeholders and coordinate responses to audits and special requests.
• Monitor key activities, develop intervention mechanisms, and create project plans to ensure timely execution of subcontracts and agreements.
• Research and evaluate information to provide solutions to complex issues, leveraging a broad network of stakeholders for cross‑functional problem‑solving.
