WSP in Birmingham, AL, seeks an Early Career Civil Engineer (Overhead Transmission Lines) to join our Power Delivery Birmingham Line Team. You will assist with data collection, analysis, and site investigations to support project development, design, and construction.

The ideal candidate is a recent Civil Engineering graduate with strong communication skills, willing to travel occasionally, and eager to learn design software within a global engineering practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• 0 to 1 years of relevant post education experience.
• Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
• Familiarity with design/build concepts.
• Familiarity with civil construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsabilités

• Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from site surveys, maps, and GIS for project development, design, and construction.
• Assist with basic professional civil engineering tasks related to site conditions and conformance with standards and permits.
• Support routine engineering functions and provide entry-level technical assistance on design requirements and operating strategies.
• Verify site characteristics and provide basic technical assistance on engineering issues.
• Generate documentation using electronic systems, drawings, and field logs.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and company policies; complete training on assigned tasks.
