Job summary

Workplace Options is seeking an EAP Clinical Counselor to provide compassionate, confidential counseling via phone, video, chat, and email. The role emphasizes building a strong connection with clients through The Power of a Good Conversation and adapting to diverse needs across global clients.

Candidates should have a Master’s degree in a relevant field and at least 2 years of direct counseling experience, with opportunities for day, evening, and overnight shifts and a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or psychology.
  • Minimum 2 years direct client-contact providing counseling or mental health services.
  • Experience with assessments and clinical assessment tools.
  • Experience using short-term modalities: Solution-Focused, CBT, Mindfulness.
  • Integrative, Systemic counseling.
  • Crisis intervention training and high-risk client support beneficial.
  • Ability to work with clients with substance use, crisis, mental health symptoms, or relationship concerns.

Responsibilities

  • Provide single session telephonic and videocounselling, in-the-moment support and crisis telephonic management in a supportive, ethical and professional manner while maintaining client-confidentiality.
  • Assess clients thoroughly to ensure appropriateness for short-term counselling.
  • Assess and manage high risk calls and work closely with individuals at risk.
  • Refer clients to external resources or within WPO as part of a holistic approach.
  • Collaboratively develop clear and concise treatment plans for clients.
  • Maintain clear clinical and task-oriented documentation in case management system.
  • Any additional tasks pertinent to the position, as deemed appropriate by management.

Current Opportunity: EAP Clinical Counselor

Location: US
Onsite/Hybrid/Remote: Remote or hybrid depending on your proximity to our Raleigh office
Salary: $50,000 for day shifts, $58,300 for night shifts, plus competitive benefits offering
Years of experience: Minimum of 2 years of direct counseling experience
Shifts: We have a range of day, evening and overnight full-time (40 hour per week)shifts available.

What you will do:

Our EAP Counselors engage with participants over the phone, video, chat & email all while demonstrating what we call: The Power of a Good Conversation – creating a connection with the client to ensure they feel heard, supported, and cared for.

It’s difficult to describe an average day for our counselors, as each caller presents with a unique set of challenges, and it would be from your clinical conversation that would help each person navigate a way forward. Responsibilities:

  • Appropriately refer clients to external resources or within WPO as part of our holistic approach.
  • Collaboratively develop clear and concise treatment plans for clients.
  • Maintain clear clinical and task-oriented documentation in case management system.
  • Any additional tasks pertinent to the position, as deemed appropriate by management.

Qualifications/Skills:

To excel in this role, you will need the following qualifications and skills:

  • Social worker, Counselor or Psychologist with accompanying Master’s degree
  • Minimum 2 years direct client-contact providing counseling or mental health services
  • Experience providing assessments and/or using clinical assessment tools.
  • Experience using short-term counselling modalities such as Solution-Focused, CBT, Mindfulness,
  • Integrative, Systemic counselling.
  • Training in crisis intervention and supporting high risk clients beneficial.
  • Ability to work with clients presenting with substance abuse, situations of crisis, mental healthsymptoms and/or family/relationship-related concerns impacting personal or work performance.
