Job summary

Workplace Options is seeking an experienced EAP Clinical Counselor to provide confidential counseling via phone, video, chat, and email. Roles include day, evening, and overnight shifts with remote or hybrid arrangements depending on proximity to Raleigh.

The position requires a Master’s degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 2 years of direct counseling experience, with opportunities to support diverse clients globally and to deliver crisis intervention when needed.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field (Social Work, Counseling, Psychology).
  • Minimum 2 years direct client-contact counseling experience.
  • Experience with assessments and clinical assessment tools.
  • Experience with short-term counselling modalities (Solution-Focused, CBT, Mindfulness).
  • Crisis intervention training beneficial.
  • Ability to work with diverse clients and at-risk individuals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide single session telephonic and videocounseling, in-the-moment support, and crisis management maintaining confidentiality.
  • Assess clients to determine appropriateness for short-term counselling.
  • Assess and manage high risk calls and coordinate with individuals at risk.
  • Refer clients to external resources or within WPO as part of a holistic approach.
  • Collaboratively develop clear and concise treatment plans for clients.
  • Maintain clear clinical documentation in case management system.
  • Perform additional related tasks as directed by management.

Current Opportunity: EAP Clinical Counselor

Location: US

Onsite/Hybrid/Remote: Remote or hybrid depending on your proximity to our Raleigh office

Salary: $50,000 for day shifts, $58,300 for night shifts, plus competitive benefits offering

Years of experience: Minimum of 2 years of direct counseling experience

Shifts: We have a range of day, evening and overnight full-time (40 hour per week)shifts available.

What you will do:

Our EAP Counselors engage with participants over the phone, video, chat & email all while demonstrating what we call: The Power of a Good Conversation - creating a connection with the client to ensure they feel heard, supported, and cared for.

It's difficult to describe an average day for our counselors, as each caller presents with a unique set of challenges, and it would be from your clinical conversation that would help each person navigate a way forward. Responsibilities:
  • Provide single session telephonic and videocounselling, in-the-moment support and crisis telephonic management in a supportive, ethical and professional manner while maintaining client-confidentiality.
  • Assess clients thoroughly to ensure appropriateness for short-term counselling.
  • Assess and manage high risk calls and working closely with individuals at risk.
  • Appropriately refer clients to external resources or within WPO as part of our holistic approach.
  • Collaboratively develop clear and concise treatment plans for clients.
  • Maintain clear clinical and task-oriented documentation in case management system.
  • Any additional tasks pertinent to the position, as deemed appropriate by management.
Qualifications/Skills:

To excel in this role, you will need the following qualifications and skills:

  • Social worker, Counselor or Psychologist with accompanying Master’s degree
  • Minimum 2 years direct client-contact providing counseling or mental health services
  • Experience providing assessments and/or using clinical assessment tools.
  • Experience using short-term counselling modalities such as Solution-Focused, CBT, Mindfulness,
  • Integrative, Systemic counselling.
  • Training in crisis intervention and supporting high risk clients beneficial.
  • Ability to work with clients presenting with substance abuse, situations of crisis, mental healthsymptoms and/or family/relationship-related concerns impacting personal or work performance.
