Job summary

Nucor Yamato Steel, located in Blytheville, AR, is seeking a 1st Helper for the Electric Arc Furnace. The role focuses on safety, heat integrity, and teamwork in a high-temperature environment.

You will support EAF operations, assist in refractory maintenance, and balance slag and gas chemistries to deliver quality heats to the LMF. The position requires consistent safety adherence, the ability to work rotating shifts including weekends/holidays, and a commitment to continuous improvement within

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 Year Electric Arc Furnace First Helper Experience
• Ability to work in extreme heat and on rotating shifts
• Strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork

Responsibilities

• Operate and support EAF operations and refractory maintenance
• Balance oxygen, carbon, and slag chemistry to ensure heats meet quality targets
• Train and supervise EAF Helpers on the crew
• Uphold safety policies and housekeeping standards on shift
• Contribute to safety, environmental, cost, quality, and productivity goals
