Nucor is seeking an EAF 2nd Helper to support melt shop operations in a demanding production environment. The role emphasizes safety, accurate task execution, and proactive involvement in maintenance and housekeeping to ensure smooth process flow.

The candidate should be able to work flexible shifts, handle elevated temperatures, and lift up to 50 lbs. Cross-training and teamwork are essential to meet department needs.

Basic Job Functions:

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. The EAF 2nd Helper supports EAF operations and maintenance, including furnace deck upkeep, slag sampling, and overhead crane operation, along with general housekeeping to keep the Melt Shop running smoothly. Teammates must be willing to cross-train in other positions within the department and fill in as needed to support operational needs.

• Willingness to work a flexible schedule and unscheduled overtime, rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
• Ability to withstand working conditions with elevated temperatures.
• Ability to lift moderate to heavy weight (50 lbs.)
