Job summary

Mueller Water Products, a leader in water infrastructure, is seeking a Category Manager to partner with business teams, drive sourcing strategies, and manage supplier relationships across key categories. The role emphasizes risk management, cost control, and alignment with production planning.

Ideal candidates hold a BA/BS in a relevant field and have experience in strategic sourcing, supplier development, and cross-functional collaboration within a manufacturing or utilities context.

Qualifications

• Be a business partner for the assigned Category and capture business needs.
• Manage annual spend and implement sourcing strategies.
• Manage price/cost according to objectives and market fluctuations.
• Supplier relationship management for strategic accounts and contracts.
• Identify suppliers for production planning; review capacity and inventory.
• Report status and support project and steering committee meetings.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier development and corrective actions.
• Support supply chain risk management to reduce risk.
• Ensure supplier compliance with Mueller requirements and policies.
• Learn quickly and manage sourcing in multiple purchasing groups.
