Job summary

Arch Insurance Group Inc. in Dallas is offering a summer internship to learn and support underwriting of primary and excess casualty business, assisting in the assessment of medium to large commercial corporations, and contributing to projects analyzing data, workflows and broker engagement. The program runs June 2, 2027 – August 6, 2027.

It is a hybrid role with 3 onsite days and 2 remote days. Relocation or housing assistance is not provided; interns will complete a summer-long capstone

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a study in Risk Management & Insurance, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.

About This Internship

About This Role

• Learn and support the underwriting of primary and excess casualty business from wholesale broker sources.

• Assist in the assessment of medium to large commercial corporations in both primary and excess casualty lines.

• Contribute to projects which may include analyzing segment data, underwriter workflows, individual accounts, and broker engagement.

• Review and analyze production activities conducted by underwriters.

• Complete a summer-long capstone project relevant to the insurance industry.

Qualifications

• Actively completing area of study in Risk Management & Insurance, Finance, Economics, or relevant program.

• Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher.

• College level - current Junior or Senior student, with graduation dates ranging from December 2027 - May 2028.

• Strong proficiency in understanding financial statements.

• Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong presentation and public speaking skills.

• Strong analytical skillset, with a keen ability to think through issues

• Entrepreneurial spirit along with the desire to be a continuous learner.

Location & Work Arrangement

• The program dates are June 2, 2027 – August 6, 2027.

• This position is classified as a hybrid position. You will work 3 days onsite and 2 days from home.

• This position is located in Dallas, TX.

• Relocation and housing assistance is not provided for this role.

Pay

For individuals assigned to or hired to work in Dallas, the hourly rate is $24 as of the time of posting. The breadth in the range exists to accommodate students in specialized programs such as actuarial candidates and graduate students. Any actual rate offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, along with the education & qualifications of the candidate. The above range may be modified in the future. Intern position is eligible for select Arch benefits.
