Job summary

Consolidated Asset Management Services (CAMS) in Houston, TX is seeking an Accounting Intern to join our finance team and gain hands-on experience in corporate accounting, financial analysis, and reporting. You will assist with financial statements, journal entries, reconciliations, cost analysis, budgeting, and a summer presentation to the CEO and leadership.

This internship targets a Bachelor's student in Accounting (Dec 2027 or May 2028) with a 3.0+ GPA, strong Excel skills, knowledge of

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's in Accounting with expected graduation Dec 2027 or May 2028.
• GPA 3.0+ (3.5+ preferred).
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with QuickBooks, SAP; Power BI a plus; basic knowledge of AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and reviewing financial statements (GAAP).
• Prepare and post journal entries; reconcile general ledger monthly.
• Develop a summer presentation for the CEO and leadership team.
• Coordinate vendor setup and verify payments with AP and treasury teams.
• Analyze financial data to support budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and automate tasks.
• Support ad-hoc projects such as financial modeling or variance analysis.
