Job summary

Consolidated Asset Management Services (CAMS) in Houston, TX seeks an Accounting Intern to join our finance team and gain hands-on experience in corporate accounting, analysis, and reporting. You will assist with financial statements, journal entries, and forecasting while working closely with senior accountants.

The role targets a proactive student pursuing a Bachelor's in Accounting with graduation planned for Dec 2027 or May 2028, and requires strong Excel skills and knowledge of accounting

Qualifications

Pursuing a Bachelor's in Accounting with graduation Dec 2027 or May 2028.
Minimum 3.0 GPA (3.5+ preferred).
Proficient in Excel and familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP).
Knowledge of data visualization tools (Power BI) is a plus.
Basic knowledge of AI tools.

Responsibilities

Assist in preparing and reviewing financial statements while ensuring GAAP compliance.
Post and reconcile journal entries; maintain general ledger accuracy.
Develop an end-of-summer presentation for CEO and leadership.
Coordinate vendor setup and verify payment accuracy with AP.
Analyze costs, revenues, and forecast financial performance.
Identify process improvements and automate repetitive tasks.
Support special projects like financial modeling or variance analysis.
