We are seeking an experienced E&I General Foreman to lead electrical and instrumentation field operations on a large-scale data center project in West Texas.
This position will direct multiple foremen and crews, coordinate manpower and work fronts, remove field constraints, and ensure safe, efficient, and code-compliant installation through testing, energization, commissioning, and turnover.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multiple E&I foremen and crews across assigned buildings, systems, and project areas.
- Translate project schedules and superintendent priorities into daily work plans and production goals.
- Coordinate manpower, tools, equipment, and materials across multiple work fronts.
- Plan and sequence work to maintain productivity and achieve project milestones.
- Coordinate E&I activities with civil, structural, mechanical, controls, commissioning, safety, quality, and client teams.
- Oversee installation of:
- Underground and aboveground raceway
- Cable tray and conductors
- Grounding systems
- Switchgear and transformers
- Generators, UPS systems, and PDUs
- Controls and instrumentation
- Review drawings, specifications, submittals, work packages, RFIs, and field changes.
- Identify and elevate design conflicts, material shortages, manpower needs, and other constraints.
- Track labor performance, installed quantities, schedule progress, rework, and completion status.
- Provide accurate daily and weekly production reports.
- Coordinate inspections, system completions, testing, energization, commissioning support, punch-list closure, and turnover documentation.
- Ensure foremen conduct pre-task planning, toolbox talks, quality checks, and crew coaching.
- Develop foremen and lead personnel while maintaining accountability for safety, quality, production, and professional conduct.
- Communicate project risks, schedule impacts, quality concerns, and unsafe conditions to project leadership.
Required Qualifications
- 10 or more years of progressive electrical and instrumentation construction experience.
- Experience leading multiple crews, foremen, or work fronts.
- Strong knowledge of commercial or industrial electrical systems, instrumentation, controls, grounding, and equipment installation.
- Ability to read and apply one-line diagrams, schematics, plans, specifications, cable schedules, and installation details.
- Experience with manpower planning, work sequencing, production tracking, and schedule-driven construction.
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code, OSHA requirements, LOTO, electrical safe-work practices, and construction quality controls.
- Strong leadership, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to pass project-required screening and meet site access requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data center, mission-critical, semiconductor, power generation, or other high-reliability projects.
- Experience with medium-voltage distribution, generators, UPS systems, switchgear, controls, testing, energization, and commissioning.
- Journeyman or master electrician license, where applicable.
- OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, CPR, first aid, or equivalent safety training.
- Experience using digital construction, quality, completion, or workforce tracking systems.
