Job summary

Leidos is seeking an e-Discovery ALS Lab Manager to support the Civil Rights Division of the DOJ. The role oversees data processing in RelOne, provides electronic discovery support, and guides strategic and legal aspects for projects with emphasis on Relativity.

The candidate will manage a team of 4–5 data processors, train staff in Relativity workflows, analytics, and production processes, and coordinate with project managers to meet tight deadlines while ensuring compliance and security.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years’ experience providing eDiscovery services and litigation support on complex cases.
  • Thorough knowledge of the litigation discovery process and the EDRM workflow.
  • Advanced knowledge of Relativity One (front end and back end).
  • Demonstrated ability to generate complex PowerShell scripts.
  • Advanced hands-on experience with Review (formerly Active Learning).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detailed planning and organizational skills with understanding of eDiscovery lifecycle stages.
  • Broad knowledge of IT infrastructures including networks and data sources.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • U.S. Citizen and ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

  • Prioritizes tasks and resolves technical issues for data processors.
  • Creates statistical reports on collection, filtering, processing, review and productions.
  • Keeps abreast of emerging electronic discovery technology and processes.
  • Maintains knowledge of software applications in area(s) of expertise.
  • Contributes to regular briefings on technology and process improvements.
  • Participates in legal proceedings, e.g. 26(f) conferences

Job description

The e-Discovery ALS Lab Manager will support the Civil Rights Division of DOJ. The candidate is responsible for overseeing and processing data in RelOne; providing electronic discovery technical support and assisting with strategic and legal aspects for all assigned projects and matters with a strong focus on Relativity.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Oversees a team of 4 to 5 data processors

  • Trains staff on data processing and loading to Relativity.

  • Trains staff on running load-ready and searchable pdf / native file productions.

  • Trains staff on performing analytics.

  • Performs tasks of data processing / loading, running productions, and performing analytics.

  • Consults with Systems Manager, Project Managers, DOJ Managers regarding ESI specifications

  • Performs advanced analytics in Relativity.

  • Creates, troubleshoots and repairs Review Projects in Relativity.

  • Priorities tasks and resolves technical issues for data processors.

  • Stays abreast of emerging electronic discovery litigation support technology and processes.

  • Maintains current knowledge of available software applications and in area(s) of expertise.

  • Contributes to regular briefings on new technology and process improvements with regard to electronic discovery.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years’ experience providing eDiscovery services and litigation support on complex and large cases involving complex eDiscovery challenges.

  • Thorough knowledge of the litigation discovery process, and the EDRM workflow

  • Advanced knowledge of Relativity One (front end and back end).

  • Demonstrated ability to generate complex PowerShell scripts.

  • Advanced hands‑on experience with Review (formerly Active Learning).

  • Have demonstrated exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Possess detailed planning and organizational skills and have a thorough understanding of processes at each stage of eDiscovery lifecycle.

  • Candidate must possess solid, broad knowledge of Information Technology infrastructures including networks and other sources of data.

  • Have proven ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining proper priorities and scheduling on extremely tight deadlines.

  • Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Law degree, technical certification, or other pertinent graduate degree strongly preferred.

  • May require extended hours on short notice depending on Production deadlines.

  • In‑depth hands‑on experience with Case Map and Text Map

Please note: while the salary range is wide, the specific salary range for this position is going to be around $125,000.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $92,300.00 - $166,850.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
