Job summary

Think Consulting seeks an experienced eDiscovery Lab Manager to supervise a small team and oversee data processing, RelativityOne administration, and document productions within a federal-litigation environment.

The ideal candidate combines advanced RelativityOne expertise with strong leadership, hands-on analytics, and deep knowledge of the electronic discovery lifecycle, supporting collaboration with legal teams and government stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Eight or more years of professional eDiscovery and litigation-support experience.
  • Advanced hands-on RelativityOne experience, including front-end and back-end administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop complex PowerShell scripts.
  • Advanced experience with Relativity Review (Active Learning).
  • Thorough knowledge of the litigation discovery process and eDiscovery model.
  • Strong workflows across collection, processing, review, analytics, and production.
  • Experience creating and managing complex document productions.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and provide technical direction to a team of eDiscovery data processors.
  • Train personnel on data processing, ingestion, and loading into RelativityOne.
  • Train team on searchable PDF, native-file, and load-ready productions.
  • Mentor personnel on Relativity analytics and review workflows.
  • Hands-on data processing, loading, productions, and advanced analytics.
  • Create and repair RelativityOne review workspaces and workflows.
  • Prioritize processing tasks and resolve issues affecting delivery.
  • Coordinate with systems managers, project managers, and stakeholders on data specs.
  • Develop workflows for collection, filtering, processing, review, analysis, and production.
  • Create statistical reports on data activity.
  • Support high-volume litigation with tight deadlines.
  • Evaluate new eDiscovery technologies and improvements.
  • Provide briefings on eDiscovery tools and workflows.
  • Participate in discovery planning and Rule 26(f) conferences.

eDiscovery ALS Lab Manager

Location: Washington, DC
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Position Type: Full-Time, Six-Month Contract-to-Hire

Security Requirement: U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a Public Trust suitability determination

Position Overview

Think Consulting is seeking an experienced eDiscovery Automated Litigation Support Lab Manager to support a high-profile federal litigation environment within the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division.

This position will oversee a team of eDiscovery data processors while remaining directly involved in data processing, RelativityOne administration, document productions, analytics, and technical troubleshooting. The Lab Manager will provide technical leadership throughout the electronic discovery lifecycle and collaborate with legal teams, project managers, systems personnel, and government stakeholders to support complex litigation matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and provide technical direction to a team of four to five eDiscovery data processors.
  • Train personnel on data processing, ingestion, and loading into RelativityOne.
  • Train team members on searchable PDF, native-file, and load-ready document productions.
  • Train and mentor personnel on Relativity analytics and review workflows.
  • Perform hands‑on data processing, loading, productions, and advanced analytics.
  • Create, configure, troubleshoot, and repair RelativityOne review workspaces.
  • Prioritize processing assignments and resolve technical issues affecting project delivery.
  • Consult with systems managers, project managers, legal teams, and government stakeholders regarding electronically stored information specifications.
  • Develop and maintain workflows supporting collection, filtering, processing, review, analysis, and production.
  • Create statistical reports covering data collection, filtering, processing, review, and production activity.
  • Support complex and high-volume litigation matters with aggressive deadlines.
  • Evaluate emerging eDiscovery technologies and recommend process or technology improvements.
  • Provide briefings and technical guidance concerning eDiscovery tools, workflows, and industry developments.
  • Participate in discovery planning discussions and legal proceedings, including Rule 26(f) conferences, when required.
  • Ensure work is completed accurately, consistently, and in accordance with applicable litigation-support procedures.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Eight or more years of professional eDiscovery and litigation-support experience.
  • Experience supporting large and complex litigation matters involving significant eDiscovery challenges.
  • Advanced hands‑on experience with RelativityOne, including both front‑end functionality and back‑end administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop complex PowerShell scripts.
  • Advanced experience with Relativity Review, formerly Active Learning.
  • Thorough knowledge of the litigation discovery process and Electronic Discovery Reference Model.
  • Strong understanding of workflows across collection, processing, review, analytics, and production.
  • Experience processing and loading electronically stored information into Relativity.
  • Experience creating and managing complex document productions.
  • Experience troubleshooting Relativity workspaces, processing workflows, and technical issues.
  • Broad knowledge of information technology infrastructure, networks, and common sources of electronically stored information.
  • Experience leading, supervising, training, or providing technical direction to eDiscovery processing personnel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong planning, prioritization, documentation, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and extremely tight litigation deadlines.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to successfully complete the required Public Trust process.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor, relevant graduate degree, or technical certification.
  • Relativity certification.
  • Hands‑on experience with CaseMap and TextMap.
  • Federal government or Department of Justice litigation-support experience.
  • Experience participating in discovery-planning meetings or Rule 26(f) conferences.
  • Experience managing an automated litigation support or eDiscovery processing lab.
Additional Requirements
  • Position is expected to be performed onsite in Washington, DC.
  • The successful candidate must be available for occasional extended hours on short notice when required by litigation or production deadlines.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of the required federal security and suitability process.
