Job summary

Hire Ecom is seeking a Shopify Web Developer to design, build, and optimize high-converting Shopify stores. You will customize themes, implement apps, and ensure fast, mobile-friendly storefronts.

You’ll work with marketers and designers in a remote/hybrid setup, using Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and API integrations to boost speed, SEO, and CRO.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Shopify development and customization.
• Strong proficiency in Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Shopify CLI.
• Experience with Shopify Plus and custom API integrations.
• Knowledge of CRO, UI/UX best practices, and mobile-first design.
• Familiarity with SEO optimization, ADA compliance, and responsive design.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and customize Shopify stores to enhance UX and conversions.
• Modify and optimize Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Implement custom apps and third‑party integrations (Klaviyo, ReCharge, Bold, Yotpo).
• Ensure stores are fast, mobile-friendly, SEO-ready, and ADA compliant.
• Integrate Shopify with payment gateways, CRMs, inventory, and analytics platforms.
• Develop or modify Shopify apps; work with APIs (Shopify, GraphQL, REST, webhooks).
• Lead A/B tests and CRO efforts to improve conversions.

Key Responsibilities:

Shopify Store Development & Customization

• Design, develop, and customize Shopify stores to enhance functionality and user experience.
• Modify and optimize Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Implement custom Shopify apps and third-party integrations (e.g., Klaviyo, ReCharge, Bold, Yotpo).
• Ensure all Shopify stores are mobile-optimized, fast-loading, and SEO-friendly.

API Integrations & App Development

• Integrate Shopify with payment gateways, CRM systems, inventory management tools, and analytics platforms.
• Develop custom Shopify apps or modify existing ones to meet unique business needs.
• Work with APIs like Shopify API, GraphQL, REST API, and webhooks.

Performance Optimization & Troubleshooting

• Optimize store speed, navigation, and checkout process for higher conversions.
• Fix bugs, coding errors, and compatibility issues for seamless user experience.
• Ensure stores are ADA-compliant, secure, and meet Shopify’s best practices.

A/B Testing & Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO)

• Implement A/B testing for UI/UX elements, landing pages, and checkout processes.
• Improve conversion rates using data-driven insights and analytics tools like Hotjar, Google Analytics, and Shopify Reports.
• Enhance the customer journey, product pages, and checkout flow for better user engagement.

What We’re Looking For:

• 3+ years of experience in Shopify development and customization.
