Job description

Job Title: E-commerce Manager
Role Overview
  • E-commerce Marketplace Manager responsible for growing Amazon Seller Central and other online channels while protecting pricing, brand control, and channel integrity.
  • Owns marketplace strategy across Amazon, Walmart, Shopify, and other channels, with a focus on avoiding channel conflict and preventing internal competition between channels.
  • Will also lead product sourcing specifically for online sales, since not every retail item is a good fit for ecommerce.
Core Responsibilities
  • Launch, manage, and scale Amazon Seller Central, including FBA and/or FBM.
  • Take control of listings, pricing, catalog structure, and content to reduce dependence on Vendor Central.
  • Build a pricing and channel strategy that keeps online channels from competing against each other and causing listings to be shut off or suppressed.
  • Manage Buy Box ownership, reseller issues, MAP enforcement, and pricing consistency.
  • Oversee marketplace performance metrics including sales, margins, TACoS, conversion rates, and inventory health.
  • Coordinate inventory planning, replenishment, and forecasting to support online demand.
  • Work closely with internal teams to align marketplace strategy with broader retail and distribution goals.
Online Product Sourcing
  • Source products specifically for online channels instead of simply taking retail items and listing them online.
  • Identify products that are better suited for ecommerce based on price point, shipping efficiency, conversion potential, bundle potential, and customer demand.
  • Work with suppliers to develop online-specific SKUs, bundles, variations, and exclusive items.
  • Evaluate whether current retail items are the right fit for online, and recommend new items when they are not.
  • Analyze marketplace trends, keyword demand, reviews, and competitor listings to identify online product opportunities.
  • Create sourcing strategies that improve margin, reduce channel conflict, and support stronger online sell-through.
  • Work with domestic and overseas suppliers to source products that are more competitive online than current retail assortment.
Channel Strategy & Conflict Management
  • Develop a structured multi-channel plan across Amazon, Walmart, Shopify, and wholesale.
  • Establish pricing architecture to prevent marketplaces from undercutting each other.
  • Create SKU segmentation strategies such as exclusive online items, bundles, and channel-specific variations.
  • Monitor and reduce conflict between online channels and retail accounts.
  • Proactively manage listing suppression, account health issues, and platform compliance risks.
  • Coordinate with sales and category teams so online strategy supports, rather than harms, retail business.
Team Management
  • Manage an overseas team responsible for product images, A+ content, and PPC execution.
  • Set clear goals, timelines, and KPIs for remote team members.
  • Review creative work, listing quality, and ad performance, while providing strategic direction.
  • Ensure the team supports the overall marketplace plan and online product strategy.
  • Improve workflows, communication, and accountability across distributed teams.
Amazon Seller Central Expertise
  • Deep hands-on experience with Seller Central backend, including catalog management, flat files, and variation structures.
  • Strong understanding of Buy Box mechanics, Amazon fees, FBA storage, and margin management.
  • Experience troubleshooting listing issues, suppressed ASINs, and backend catalog problems.
  • Familiarity with transitioning between Vendor Central and Seller Central or operating both in a hybrid model.
Required Experience
  • 5+ years managing Amazon Seller Central or broader ecommerce marketplace operations.
  • Proven ability to grow marketplace revenue while protecting margin and brand control.
  • Experience managing overseas or remote teams.
  • Strong background in sourcing, especially identifying products suited for online sales.
  • Experience in consumer goods, housewares, or branded product categories.
  • Understanding of channel conflict, reseller control, and pricing strategy.
  • Technical & Operational Skills
  • ERP experience
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills for margin, pricing, and forecast planning.
  • Familiarity with PPC tools, listing tools, and marketplace reporting platforms.
  • Understanding of FBA logistics, inventory planning, and replenishment cycles.
  • Ability to manage flat files, bulk catalog updates, and product data accurately.
