Job summary

MERS Missouri Goodwill seeks an energetic E-Commerce Computer Technician to join the Blue Spring team. The role supports our mission, "Changing Lives Through the Power of Work!", by refurbishing donated computers and preparing them for shipment.

No degree is required; a High School Diploma or GED is preferred. You will diagnose, install software, verify operating system functionality, and ensure high-quality refurbishments while meeting daily production goals and following safety and security

Qualifications

• No degree required; High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• The ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, customers, and management.
• Must be organized and capable of interacting with a diverse work population.
• Necessary math skills include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Experience performing POST diagnostics on computer operating systems.
• Knowledge of various operating systems, including Windows, Mac, and Linux.
• Experience identifying and recommending computers suitable for refurbishment.
• Familiarity with Dell and Microsoft refurbishing requirements and standards.

Responsibilities

• Sort, inspect, and distribute items according to quality standards.
• Inspect and identify end-of-life computers versus devices that can be refurbished.
• Install and run software using USB drives or DVDs.
• Prepare approved computers for the refurbishment process.
• Ensure high-quality refurbished computers are processed and ready for shipment in a timely manner.
• Meet daily production goals and performance expectations set by management.
• Establish and maintain positive and professional relationships with team members and leadership and work cross-functionally with other teams to increase communication.
• Utilize safe work practices through awareness and observation and contribute to ensuring the workplace is hazard-free by removing obstructions and keeping aisles and designated walkways debris-free.
• Maintain a professional appearance always, adhering to MERS/Goodwill's dress code.
• Safeguard agency assets, including cash, donated items, and purchased items, from harm, damage, or theft. Report any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession of agency assets.
• Must adhere to all MERS/Goodwill policies, Goodwill Retail procedures, and safety and security regulations.
• All other duties as assigned.
