Job summary

Goodwill Industries of the Summit in Charleston, WV, seeks a part-time eCommerce associate to scan and list books and media on Amazon, eBay, and GoodwillBooks.

You will verify item condition, ensure accurate descriptions, meet daily quotas, and help shelve items safely while supporting shipping tasks and cross-training with the eCommerce team. Starting pay is $12.00 per hour with varied shifts and negligible travel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to listen and follow verbal instructions.
• Good attention to detail and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Scan and list books and media on platforms (Amazon, eBay, GoodwillBooks).
• Ensure items are complete, not torn, and correctly described.
• Check cases and discs; note missing booklets and discard unaccepted product properly.
• Meet daily item-scanning quotas.
• Use accurate descriptions when listing items.
• Shelf items safely to minimize loss; pull sold items for shipping.
• Purge old product as directed.
• Notify eCommerce Supervisor when supplies are needed.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness of the assigned area.
• Cross-train in shipping to assist when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Responsible for scanning and/or listing books and media on various eCommerce platforms, such as Amazon, eBay, and GoodwillBooks. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Ensure book covers are untorn, spines are not broken, the pages are complete and in good condition, and, if part of a set, that the set is complete.
• Ensure media cases and labels are intact and correct discs are inside. Note missing booklets.
• When quality guidelines of books/media is met, scan.
• Meet quota for items to be scanned every day.
• Properly discard unaccepted product.
• Use the most accurate description of the item when listing.
• Ensure items are accurately and safely shelved to minimize loss and lost items.
• Accurately pull sold items for shipping.
• Purge old product as directed.
• Notify eCommerce Supervisor in a timely manner when any supplies are needed.
• Take responsibility for safety and security of merchandise in assigned area and keep working area clean, neat, and in safe condition.
• Work independently with minimal instruction and/or direction from supervisor.
• Cross-train in shipping to assist when necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, such as Word and Outlook, and a general understanding of computer hardware and software required.
• Must have ability to listen and follow verbal instructions.
• Must have good attention to detail.

Additional Information

• Beginning rate of pay is $12.00 per hour.
• Part-time position.
